The Netherlands : ABN Amro to open a new type of branch

The Dutch bank, ABN Amro, in partnership with Douwe Egberts, the coffee producer and distributor, a subsidiary of Sara Lee, (better known in France under the name "La Maison du Café"), is to open, at the end of December 2003, in the centre of the city of Enschede, a combined bank branch and coffee house: "Cafe DE".

This new type of branch represents a further step forward in the branch renewal policy which ABN Amro launched a year ago, with the opening of branches designed as shopping areas, with a warm, user-friendly environment, where customers have the use of computers, reading tables as well as telephone access.

The opening hours of the Café DE will be in line with those of surrounding stores, that is to say longer than traditional branches, and open notably in the evening during the week and on Saturday.
