Canada : A new card from Royal Bank of Canada and Starbucks
Sponsor

The Canadian bank, Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), and Starbucks, the American chain of coffee houses, have launched the "Starbucks Duetto Visa Card", which is a Visa bank card and reloadable Starbucks charge card in one.

The Starbucks Duetto Visa Card is the first card of this type in Canada and is modelled on the Duetto card, which was launched in the United States in October 2003 by Starbucks, in partnership with Visa and Bank One. The new card integrates a loyalty programme, under which cardholders earn 1% back on all purchases made with the card in all outlets where Visa cards are accepted.

Cardholders are also offered related services, benefits and gifts. The Starbucks Duetto Visa Card is free and can be reloaded on the company's internet site. In addition, cardholders will be credited with a ten dollar bonus when they make their first purchase.
