CaixaBank
France, a subsidiary of the Spanish banking
group La Caixa, and Swiss Life France signed,
on 12 January 2005, a commercial partnership
agreement.
Under this agreement, Swiss Life France will
become CaixaBank's privileged life insurance
partner. CaixaBank will distribute, via its
branches, Swiss Life France's life insurance
products, while Swiss Life France will be able
to offer, in the second half of 2005, an account
contract with a credit card and a real estate
package (mortgage, home and loan insurance)
provided by CaixaBank.
The two partners hope that, within five years,
12 000 CaixaBank customers will have taken out
a life insurance contract and 25 000 Swiss Life
France customers will have acquired a banking
product. The agreement also includes cross-holdings
in the subsidiaries of the two groups.
