In 2000, the Quality of Earnings model was added to analyze the aggressiveness of a company’s accounting practices. Combining the three models’ insights broadened a portfolio’s characteristics and increased the power and consistency of Numeric Investors LLC’s investment returns. Beginning with a single strategy and $40 million under management in 1989, Numeric Investors LLC has grown to utilizing five primary models with varying emphases in 21 different strategies, in the U.S., Japanese, and European stock markets. As of June 30, 2006, the 68-person independent investment management firm was managing $11.3 billion in client assets.
