City of London Investment Group PLC
City of London was formed in the early 1990s as a subsidiary of a stockbroking business, Olliff & Partners (O&P) which was founded in 1987 by City of London's Chief Executive, Barry Olliff. O&P was an agency stockbroker and corporate finance house specialising initially in the UK investment trust sector. During the late 1980s, O&P started broking the developing closed-end country fund arena. The focus was on London listed emerging market funds and a detailed database was developed covering this under-researched area.
