Kaw Valley Bank is an independent locally-owned full service bank that stems from the merger of four Topeka banks with a history of service to Topeka extending over 140 years.
The present ownership dates from the 1920's when Glenn Swogger, Sr. and his father acquired a bank, which they operated from a small building, with the bank in front and the family living in back. During the Depression the Kaw Valley National Bank was acquired and the combination became the Kaw Valley State Bank. Glenn Swogger, Sr., led the growth and development of the bank until he retired in 1982.
